The timeline, without the blur

Two dates matter, and they describe two different milestones. In 2013, Olivia Han opened her Palo Alto studio and was among the first to bring professional lash extensions to the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. In 2020, she pioneered the Korean No Glue Lash Lift®—first in California and the Bay Area.

Keeping those milestones separate is important. The extension work established years of close observation of natural lash patterns, growth directions, and styling preferences. The later no-glue method created a new way to lift natural lashes without relying on adhesive during the shaping step.

What “no glue” describes

In a traditional lift, adhesive is commonly used to secure natural lashes onto a silicone shield before the lifting solutions are applied. The Korean No Glue Lash Lift® removes that adhesive step. The artist works with a controlled, glue-free shaping process instead.

That change sounds small, but it affects how the artist approaches separation, direction, tension, and placement. The method is not a product shortcut. It depends on trained observation and deliberate control of the lash line.

What a client can reasonably expect

The method is glue-free, lash-healthy, and lasts up to 8 weeks. “Up to” matters: the visible result changes as each person’s natural lashes move through their growth cycle. Home care, lash condition, and the individual growth pattern all influence longevity.

A responsible consultation should look at lash length, density, direction, and the client’s desired finish. The goal is not to force every eye into one steep curl. It is to choose a lift that reads as balanced when the eyes are open.

Original terminology matters

No Glue Lash Lift® and Korean No Glue Lash Lift® are trademarked names. Other providers may describe adhesive-free approaches with general terms such as “glueless,” “glue-free,” or product names of their own. Similar vocabulary does not establish the same origin, method, or training lineage.

For clients comparing menus, the useful question is not only whether the word “Korean” appears. Ask who developed the method being offered, how the artist was trained, and whether the service actually omits adhesive from the lash-positioning step.
